PYSO RETURNS FROM VIENNA AND BEGINS THE 08-09 SEASON!
Although it has been a few months since the memorable trip to Europe to participate in the 2008 Vienna Youth Music Festival, conversation still buzzes from the many successes the members experienced while they were abroad. Among the unforgettable memories was a concert in the city of Pulkau where the entire town came to see them play, a priceless performance on stage at the closing ceremonies of the festival and of course, the award and trophy for second best over-all performance. Here are just a few of the comments the students made about the trip:
"My favorite concert in Austria was in Pulkau. Everyone in the town had come out to see us perform. It was incredible! I loved the feeling of playing for such music-loving people” –Isabella, violin
“The experience was life-changing. Standing ovations and requests for encores don't come often for most student groups, but they certainly did for us.” –Rachel, clarinet
“The weeks spent in Vienna created an astounding journey that further enticed me and my sister’s love for music.” –Seth, cello
Now that the students are back at home and starting the 2008-09 season, those memories will nurture all of their musical endeavors. To see what the students are learning in PYSO, go to our blog, or come to the Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 9th at Pasadena High School.
